What to Expect at Your First Massage Therapy Appointment

We get it—booking your first massage can bring a mix of curiosity and nerves. At Dream City Wellness in Garner, NC, we’re here to make your first experience welcoming, empowering, and completely stress-free.

📝 Before Your Appointment

Before you arrive, you'll receive a digital intake form via email or text. This form helps us understand your health history, lifestyle, and goals—such as pain areas, injuries, or mobility challenges.

Please complete your form prior to your appointment to ensure we can begin your session on time and give you the best care possible.

👚 Dressing & Draping: Comfort is Our Priority

After check-in, you’ll be brought to your treatment room where your therapist will step out and give you privacy to undress to your level of comfort.

All clients are professionally draped using a sheet at all times. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered. This ensures both your comfort and your modesty are always respected.

💬 A Quick Conversation Before We Begin

Your therapist will briefly go over your form and ask a few key questions to tailor your session:

  • What’s your primary concern or focus area?

  • Are there areas you'd like to avoid?

  • What level of pressure feels good to you?

Feel free to speak up at any point during your massage. Whether it's pressure adjustments or needing more support on the table—we're here for you.

💆 During Your Massage

Once the session begins, it’s all about you. You may experience:

  • A quiet, calming atmosphere with soothing music

  • Focused work based on your needs—whether therapeutic or restorative

  • A space where you can relax, recharge, and let go

You can chat or remain quiet—there’s no wrong way to enjoy your massage. Many clients even fall asleep!

💧 Aftercare & Checkout

Once your session is complete, your therapist will step out to allow you to redress. You’ll then proceed to checkout at the front desk.

After you leave, be sure to drink plenty of water. Massage increases circulation and supports the lymphatic system, which can release built-up tension and toxins stored in the body. Staying hydrated helps flush those out and keeps you feeling your best post-treatment.

Your therapist may also offer personalized aftercare suggestions—such as stretches, future session recommendations, or self-care tips.

✨ Your First Visit Sets the Tone

We want you to leave feeling better than you arrived—with less tension, more mobility, and greater ease in your body. Whether you're brand new to massage or it’s just your first time with us, you’re in good hands at Dream City Wellness.
